A few notes about the design of this site and its behavior under various browsers, as
well as a final paragraph of personal opinions:
Every effort has been made to produce a site which is viewable and workable under every
browser ever developed. It is impossible to add features that are both convenient and
aesthetically pleasing as well as easy to navigate without a few compromises
to older browser users. This site uses style sheets, Java applets, and some JavaScript,
although NONE of these are necessary to access any of the information on the site. They
only make it more functional and better looking.
The only feature which absolutely requires
at least Netscape 3 or Explorer 3 or later is the Jukebox. As long as you only click the Jukebox
link one time during your visit, you can continue to enjoy all the selections without having
to start over at the beginning, by clicking on its
icon in the taskbar to change selections, rather than clicking again on the Jukebox link
on each new page. It will
automatically keep playing AND be brought back to the top for additional selections without
interruption, if the link is clicked on the same page which originally loaded it - otherwise
it will start over with the first selection, if the link is clicked again on a new page, rather
than from the taskbar.
The appearance of the pages will not be as pleasing
under older browsers, or WebTV, but all functions will work and all information will be available.
All pages are designed to display correctly in all resolutions regardless of browser although
WebTV users will see a rather compressed view of the pages, something they are undoubtedly used
to by now. The best overall results are obtained
by using 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution with Netscape 4 or later and Explorer 4 or later.
Java and JavaScript should be enabled in any browser which is capable of interpreting them.
We strongly suggest that AOL users always use a stand-alone browser. Many times the built-in
browser in AOL's software will cause problems. These can range from poor display of
images, incorrect operation of some programs or scripts, and lack of features compared to
the latest versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer. In particular, you may notice problems
with form submissions and other site specific features if using AOL 4.0 or earlier.
If you are having problems with this or other sites using AOL's built-in browser, we would
first suggest you use a stand-alone browser. Download a copy of the latest full version of
Netscape or Internet Explorer, install it, and
then use that after connecting to the Internet with the AOL software. If you insist
on using the AOL built-in browser, then you can help alleviate many problems by clearing the
memory and disk cache, deleting all temporary files, setting up the browser not to cache
any pages by setting the history to 0 or at most 1, and set the "check for newer versions of
stored pages" option to "on every visit to a page" and not just once per session or never.
After making and saving (applying) all these changes, close the software and
then re-boot before reconnecting. To avoid the need for all this, just use a
stand-alone browser for best results.
If you find any area of this site which is totally inoperable, regardless of the browser or version
you are using, please let us know using the form below. We want this site to be accessible
to the greatest number of viewers possible, and if necessary will create customized versions
of the site to accommodate individuals using antiquated browsers, although they ARE free,
so why not upgrade. You might not realize how much you are missing.
As is stated elsewhere, a number of the links on this site open pages in new windows
for your convenience, preventing the need to use the often ineffectual BACK button
technique. Unless you need to refer to these pages later, we suggest you close them
after viewing, in order to prevent a large number of unnecessary open windows. You will
automatically find yourself back at the page where you were before and can continue
on without additional effort. Some of these sites are NOT part of the Henton site, but
are informational sites which may be useful as an adjunct to your understanding of
phone service in general. We have no part in the creation of their content and receive
no compensation for providing links to their sites. If you find any material on these sites
to be unrelated to the topic at hand, or objectionable in any way, please let us know.
If you find a dead link anywhere on this site, we would also like to hear about it.
One last point. We do not believe in setting cookies, and we will NOT set any on this
site. We don't use banner ads from others which often set cookies of their own.
We suggest you disable cookies completely if you so
desire, as they will have no effect on your ability to navigate or use any features on this site.
We strongly
believe in promoting privacy as much as possible in every facet of our lives and that is why
we NEVER ask for you to submit any personal information such as credit card numbers,
social security numbers, or other private information on this site and also why we
believe so strongly that efforts to curtail invasions of our privacy are of
paramount importance. Use our links page
to find the resources to voice your opposition to the erosion of our constitutional
RIGHT to privacy.
You may send a request for information or order any of our plans by simply filling out

we actually prefer to speak to you directly at your convenience.
We don't ask for any personal information over the Internet so just leave your name,

address if you don't want a return call. Leave any message you may have in the
text box at the bottom and press the submit button. You are not signing
up for any plan by filling out this form, nor are you obligated to accept anything
if we call.
You may also contact us by a variety of other methods, including a direct Net Phone
call (or voice-mail) over the Internet, an alphanumeric page, call us directly toll-free at
one of the numbers below, or fax us your bill for free analysis. You will almost
definitely get diverted to a voice-mail system during business hours as we REFUSE to
make people wait on hold for more than a minute. We will call you back at your
convenience at any time you specify if we can't take your call immediately.
